What the brand needed

A country’s science center is where kids first get to poke the world and see what it does. This one had been doing that job for a generation, and the brand was showing its age in exactly the way beloved institutions’ brands do. The place kept evolving. The identity didn’t. A new marque had just been approved, and the real question was waiting behind it: how does a fresh mark become a living system for a place with exhibit halls, an aquarium, science programs, two languages, and a social feed, without flattening the mischief out of it?

What we built

Not a logo on a shelf. A visual system: the set of moves around the marque that decides how everything else gets made. Five directions were explored and pressure-tested against one question: will this survive contact with real life, a banner one week, a tank-side sign the next, a school program after that?

The direction that won is built on a flexible panel grid. A handful of principles instead of a straitjacket: the panel holds the message, the grid decides where it sits, and the system flexes from a magazine page to an interactive display to formats so wide or so tall most identities snap in half. It works in English and it works in Arabic, natively, not as an afterthought. Consistent enough to be recognized at a glance, loose enough that each campaign gets to be its own thing.

What changed

The system left the deck and moved into the building. It now runs everything from exhibit signage to science programs to the social feed. A refreshed brand for a new generation, doing the quiet work good systems do: every new thing the center makes starts halfway done, and looks like it belongs to the place.
